Food Fun and Foreign Workers

Food Fun and Foreign Workers

Hello again from the Diamond Global team. Lots of action in the coming weeks on our end as we focus on Alberta and their incredibly unique staffing goals. Our first stop is the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservice Association show on October 24th & 25th in Calgary. This is definitely our most delicious trade show and if you are involved in the foodservice industry and will be in the area during this time, please do stop by our booth. Over the years Diamond has helped many CRFA members maneuver the labour shortage minefield and I am proud to say 99% of our workers are still with their original companies.

I will also be making a personal trip to the Banff and Canmore area, visiting clients both old and new, so if you are interested in a meeting, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Another “Can’t Miss” opportunity occurs in November when Diamond will be hosting a panel on the Temporary Foreign Worker program specializing in the Tourism/HR sector. This event takes place at the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council convention which occurs on November 15th to 18th in Edmonton.

The CTHRC (http://cthrc.ca) is an amazing group that seems to possess the foresight and vision of an ever changing labour market. They have a few incredible tools and facts on their site I highly recommend taking a look at. One of my favourites is the Employee Turnover Cost Calculator (http://cthrc.ca/en/research_publications/turnover_cost_calculator.aspx). We find tools like these very useful in determining the value of a well designed foreign worker program.

I will be staying an extra few days in Edmonton once again to visit clients. If you would like to arrange a meeting, do not hesitate to contact me. B.Guth@diamondglobal.ca

Happy Headhunting,
